Pros
As others have mentioned, one of the few "pros" of NC4 is the extremely high turnover among analysts due to the abysmal working conditions. The company is consistently forced to recruit and hire new analysts to replace those who have decided to leave (sometimes after only months), which makes it possible for recent college graduates to get their foot in the door and gain some experience in the security industry.
Cons
Too many to list. A few, in no particular order: - Verbal promises regarding promotions, perks, and work/life balance are not upheld - Oppressive, Stasi-like work environment: managers actively monitor employee email and IM accounts to stop employees from expressing work-related grievances to one another and employees are encouraged to 'inform' on counterparts who express dissatisfaction with any aspect of their job - Middle management is openly hostile, heavy-handed, and antagonistic in nearly all interactions with employees - Management does not support employees when mistakes are made and routinely passes off their own mistakes as employee mistakes. Expect to be 'thrown under the bus' if and when a mistake does occur. - Extreme favoritism undermines the work of solid performers - Few opportunities for promotion - Extremely low employee morale and quality of life **Management has refused to address any of the problems listed above and effectively retaliates against employees who dare mention such issues Run, don't walk, in the other direction. It is nearly impossible to leave this company with a good reference given the capricious nature of middle management, the company has a poor reputation in the security world (in part because it chased all of its knowledgeable analysts out the door), and the drama created by middle management is enough to give anyone an ulcer (or put them in therapy). Do yourself a favor and go work at McDonalds; you'll receive more professional respect, the pay is about the same, and I wouldn't be surprised if NC4 goes under in the near future.
