Pros

In my experience, I've worked with some really great and genuine people who are willing to help you learn and grow and whom you can build lasting relationships with. It does look good and impressive on a resume.

Cons

There is a slight difference in what they expouse about work/life balance and what actually happens due to the amount of work that needs to be done and the deficit of hands to do it in a balanced way. The NBA keeps itself pretty lean when it comes to actual workers and as it's been my experience it can be a battle to get fair compensation if you've been with the company for a while. Very Top Heavy with many executives that do very little if any of the real work, who are all outside people who don't know what it really takes to get this work done. You literally need to have another offer on the table before they will even consider giving you your due, and for most by that time It's too little too late. This is because there is rarely a clear understanding of what a persons job description/role is in this company. You could very well be doing well above and beyond what would normally be expected of a person in the same position in a similar industry, but here they just tell us, " Yes, that is part of your job description." By keeping vague-no job descriptions available, it provides employees limited opportunites to present a case to warrant promotion/pay increase. It's rare that someone is promoted for their contributions and unless you have the connections you probably won't see the dollars you would normally expect to see come with the promotion and added responsiblities. You have to take on new responsibilities and beg for the promotion. You don't get the promotion and then get new responsibilities. You will have better chances of success if you are male and neopotism plays a really big part. This is one place where I believe loyalty does not get you very much or very far and basically isn't even appreciated. I've been told by several people that here "Everyone is replaceable." It's the NBA and many people will be happy to take your place even if it means relocating. Atmosphere can be very tense.
