Pros

Benefits are good but have gotten more limited since I started. Facilities used to be nice with access to a gym and some free snacks, but have gotten worse while transitioning to a new building. Management kind of tries to be hands off.

Cons

Toxic work environment, everyone in my lab is overworked and underpaid, process and project management is held together by duct tape and tree sap. Constant stockouts that delay projects which then falls on techs to cram and make up for failures of process/other groups. I've heard other labs at Myriad are better in this respect. Myriad has changed ownership a few times in recent years, and employee bonuses/gifts/raise and promotion structure continues to change. With recent changes, vertical mobility seems as though it will become very static and stagnant, not allowing opportunities for promotion unless someone leaves. Not sure how this will effect pay raises, but with how they've been slowly slashing employee benefits I'm not hopeful.

Pros

They are a market leader in genetic testing and precision medicine. They have good products backed by compelling science. The work environment is inclusive, and the people are amazing to work with. They have generous benefit packages.

Cons

Myriad has faced headwinds in the last few years and it's reflected in their stock price. Investors don't seem to have a lot of confidence they can stay relevant and improve revenue generation. There has been a lot of executive leadership changes, and they are trying to find their footing. This is creating a lot of change, and it's difficult for the employees to see how this will improve in the long run. Their product portfolio is generally behind competitors, and they are not keeping up. While they work to gain parity, competitors are changing the target.
