Getting promoted is impossible. They'll assign more work with the promise of promotion, then conveniently forget that promise. You're still doing your work + your work HAD you been promoted, though Reorgs happen frequently, leaving gaps that get you asking, "who's doing this work now?" Since you noticed the gap, you're gonna be doing the work now. Good job buddy! You'll work many inconsiderate higher-ups who will make you feel subhuman . No one will value your experience or even try understand what you do.
