Pros

1. The work load 2. Non management people

Cons

1. The higher management do not care about anything other than the corporate overlords. Everything is covered in red tape and it takes ages to be heard (and then ignored). 2. The pay compared to other companies is low and pay increases are barely ever in line with inflation. 3. Corporate management keeps you in the dark. Redundancies are announced out of the blue. Everybody I know works without any kind of future prospect with the company. Unless you are higher up, you don't know anything. 4. Employee retention is just not a thing. If you don't like something, they will find someone who does. Unhappy about not getting a bonus? Be thankful you have a job. In fact, the ex HR director was seen smiling and grinning as around 40 decent people were made redundant.

Pros

Shift patterns are fairly regular and easy to tailor around your needs. Team members across the business are lovely (Excluding most managers). Fairly generous holiday entitlement which includes bank holidays (although not all teams can take bank holidays off).

Cons

The upper management care about 2 things: 1 Protecting the interests of EssilorLuxottica and 2 making as much money for them as possible at the expense of anything. The HR director could be compared to a very famous man from Austria, 1939-1945 should ring a bell. In her words, "Employees should be grateful to work for the company". There is no progression available these days, it's easier to outsource to another country than get someone valuable in the UK. There are no premises unless you live in London. 100% home working is the new normal and if you don't like it, well it's either tough or you can find another job elsewhere. There is literally no plan (or not that anybody knows of) for what is happening over the next year even, which leaves the job security aspect extremely lacking.
