Some really great people below the upper and middle management levels, good mission. Um... that's about it.

It was utterly toxic. Going into the interview I was told that there was an excellent work / life balance, but I soon found out that was a flat-out lie. Because when you worked for Mutualink, the company had the attitude that they owned you. You were expected to be available 24 / 7 / 365 even when taking PTO. The company was utterly hampered by a pull between updating their environment to current technological standards and keeping the "tried and true" product line which was nearly impossible for the customer to configure or even understand. Projects were started, then killed, then started, then altered, then pivoted, and then finally killed again. Upper management was pursuing partnerships and funding while the two visions - innovate vs double-down on the existing - were completely at odds. Sales suffered because of it, and investors they were literally banking on backed out at the last minute. At that point they simply ran out of money and laid off all but a handful of employees. How they are still in business is, quite frankly, a minor miracle especially since it seems like they're putting all their remaining muscle behind a single product that was obsolete 20 years ago.
