Pros

hybrid work, control your own schedule

Cons

There are so many. The business model to have local coordinators work as a contractor is a way for the company to exploit the resources of the coordinators so the company is not responsible for providing the resources coordinators need for their work, such as office supply costs and gas, and gas is a big one because there is so much traveling required. Their business model is set up so that you are working 24/7 with little to no support from the organization, and you are also held legally liable for minors, which can include navigating some very serious and complex situations involving health care and more. The pay does not match the amout of labour and expenses that is required to perform the job.

Pros

A unique place full of hard-working staff and dedicated middle management. The office culture is pretty laid back, birthdays are almost always celebrated and the owners always go big for Christmas parties and office events. They're definitely going for the "work-hard, play-hard" vibe. There is a lot you can learn at this company and from its staff. It's a team environment where working together is essential. The benefits are okay, and annual bonuses can be decent. Also, the Toronto location is great - right downtown with tons of great restaurants close by and 5 seconds to the subway.

Cons

Major stress, work phones (with unclear guidelines for them, essentially amounting to being on call 24/7), huge expectations (from ownership and towards clients), and low pay (considering workload and ). There is also little opportunity for advancement due to the small company size -there are basically a few hands-on owners/CEOs, a couple middle managers, and then staff. Staff are also not paid the same rate (for similar work) - starting rates are very low and it can take a while to work up to a reasonable - albeit still low - salary. While the company is based in Toronto/Vancouver, a lot of time is spent on the road / in small communities.
