      Pros

      * Work life balance * Interesting idea for a company * Great purpose

      Cons

      * Lack of Care from upper management for anything that isn't Web * Upper Management only cares about Money making schemes * Share holders clearly want to sell the company, and have tried within the last few years * No care about tech debt from upper management * They no longer have a CTO and have no desire to have another * Low salaries * promotions are based on who you are friends with and not who does a good job * Few toxic members of the Tech team, that everyone complains about, but nothing is done * No to little Design Support * MVP is done wrong. They do the least possible, and never come back to fix anything. * Communication between the Tech teams is little to nonexistent * They Change Management style every few years

      We are always open to feedback. We feel it is important to be transparent with company decisions, thus we share our financials, staffing plans, and ask employees to participate in crafting the roadmap. In doing so, we know that this is different from our past approach and not everyone is open to it. Our decision about not hiring a CTO immediately, and instead to hire two Managers; one for Software Devs and one for IS/IT and Database is to offer more professional development and further open lines of communication with stakeholders. The CTO position will likely be a future hire for us. We continue to strive to offer the best employment experience possible and are proud winners of the Top Places to Work award for two years running.

      Pros

      Excellent Training and wonderful mission for a company. Musicnotes is one of the few ethical companies that one may work for, knowing that they are making a positive difference in the world.

      Cons

      Tech Department does not resolve root causes to customer complaints/inquiries, so the same scenarios occur repeatedly.

      Pros

      There have been a lot of good people I met there over the years. Sadly most have left or are leaving the company

      Cons

      An obviously declining company. Had been thriving for many years. However, recently the previously retired and out of touch owner stepped back in and has been firing people left and right to push her own new agenda. There are new competitions in the industry that are doing things much better and Musicnotes couldn't keep up anymore. Ownership is attempting some last-ditch efforts to boost valuation of the company back to it's glory days so they can sell the company and retire. They have no concern for the casualties along the way. It's all about money. I really wouldn't recommend this company anymore unfortunately. It's a ticking time bomb.
