Pros

Good connections, very entry-level but informative if you don't know much about the industry

Cons

Can sometimes be a bit repetitive, may be working on more basic tasks like refilling the snacks and coffee machine rather than industry tasks

Pros

Music Garage hires some of brightest individuals looking to get their foot in the door in Chicago's music scene. They encourage employees to think outside of the box and take risks with new ideas. Upper management listens closely to middle managers and communication is always open from the CEO to the unpaid interns. Working at Music Garage makes you feel listened to and that your opinions matter and hold value. Staff members are expected to get to know both customers and fellow employees to better serve the community and company outings occur regularly.

Cons

To be hired at Music Garage, you have to be able to not only go the extra mile with your work, but be willing to do it for low compensation. This isn't to say that you won't be paid for your time, just that it should be looked at as a your first step into the industry, not your somewhere to get comfortable working despite how easy the job may be. Starting compensation are low, raises are rare and health benefits are not offered even for full time, salaried employees which was huge disappointment.
