Pros

The only pro is the good people that still remain in spite of the massive layoffs. Also if you are a white male you have a career track. Anyone else--not so much.

Cons

Poorly managed at all levels. The subsidiary companies gobbled up by the parent corporation are seeing their thriving companies slowly be strangled to death. Morale is at an all-time low after another round of massive layoffs. In this day and age, you wouldn't think a pronounced glass ceiling could thrive--but at Answers that is absolutely the case. Women and minorities are not only not promoted into upper management, those that WERE in upper management prior to acquisition lose their jobs. It is an old boys network to be sure--with one weird exception: most of the "boys" are relatively young and you would think/hope they would not run a company this way.

Pros

The benefits at Multiply are amazing: 16 weeks maternity and 4 weeks paternity Unlimited sick time and generous PTO + Holidays and a floating holiday. Stocked drinks and snacks w/ healthy options We have a massage therapist that comes every other Thursday. Monthly team events like go carting, escape rooms, brewery tour... that we get whenever we hit our monthly targets. and more that I'm probably forgetting. I get to come in everyday and work on interesting problems with people I enjoy working with. We don't focus on the short term anymore. We frequently give up on opportunities to make more money now if it doesn't align with our core principles. We encourage contributing back to open source projects which is fantastic to see. As it increases our visibility in the wider tech world. We've spoken at conferences and sent people to many as well to learn from the wider community. A real effort from executive leadership to improve company culture has really paid off since early 2017.

Cons

I used to have a lot of cons in 2016 and earlier. But we've really addressed most of them in 2017 and I'm really proud to work here. I guess if I had to come up with something: I'd say that I'd love to see more diversity in our upper management. I'd love to have the staff/time to make unit testing and QA automation a larger focus for the engineering team.
