Pros

Company is usually very busy and there is plenty of work to be done. Plenty of interesting field assignments whether it be geotech investigations or construction sites. Good raises every year depending upon good performance. Great people to work with and learn from. Some field assignments can last for many months, but if it's a construction site, then take advantage of that learning experience. Many overtime opportunities when things are busy if you enjoy that. Company has a great reputation with clients so you can be involved in some high profile work each year. Some projects can be rewarding.

Cons

Easy to get "stuck" on a job or a specific task for a long time. It's important to be a team player and provide your help on projects that require a lot of time, but if you are afraid to be doing something specific for an ongoing period of time, make sure you inform management. Some assignments can require weekend work. 401k program is not great.
