Some of the people there were amazing.

Hi friend... Rand from Moz (founder) replying. Just wanted to say that: A) Totally empathize with you. I also experienced depression in my personal/professional life at Moz, and it was awful and frustrating and brought out the worst in me. I hope you're getting help -- therapy and professional coaching really helped me, as did changing up my personal health habits. If you ever want to talk about it, just reach out (rand at moz dot com) B) I'm really sorry you had an awful experience here. I know (better than most) that Moz isn't perfect. It's a great match for some, and not for others. And sometimes, circumstances or experiences or a domino effect of bad crap can hit. I wish we were immune to that, but that's not reality (I'm not even sure if it's possible). C) If you have specific feedback about bad behavior or acts you felt were not TAGFEE and you want to let me (or anyone else here know), we'd love to listen and improve. I know that's a tough ask considering you've left and probably don't have great feelings about your time at Moz, but I know that the leadership team cares, the managers care, and they want to do the right thing. It's just really hard to do that/be that all the time (certainly I'm plenty guilty of not being that all of the time myself). Wish you well and hope you've landed somewhere you love. Best, Rand

Pros

Strong company culture that values innovation, collaborative teams with smart colleagues, access to cutting-edge SEO tools, supportive leadership that encourages learning, and plenty of opportunities to work on impactful projects.

Cons

Processes can feel slow at times for decision-making, workload spikes during product launches, some departments operate in silos despite efforts at alignment, compensation could be more competitive for the industry, and remote work policies were occasionally inconsistent.

Pros

Strong autonomy, interesting projects, good relationships with coworkers, plenty of room to grow internally, learning opportunities, remote work friendly, high pay for my field when I worked there.

Cons

Overwork, very low respect from corporate, low transparency from corporate, repeated layoffs damaging morale, hollowing out of unique benefits made overall package less competitive, Ziff Davis slowly killing a once great company.
