Pros

- It was great to begin with as a first job after graduating and wanting to gain experience in the field of psychology and mental health. - Get to learn about different qualifications of therapists etc.

Cons

- You are not treated like an adult. Management staff would keep track of what time you came in, even if it was one minute after 9am and send you an email saying you need to make this time up. - No real clinical supervision from management, which was necessary a lot of the time. - Had strict times to go to lunch with no flexibility. - There was no kitchen in the office I worked in, just a tiny room with a printer, lots of filing cabinets and a kettle. We weren't allowed to have a microwave because the 'food would smell'. - Management took it way too personally if you handed in your notice. - The manager of the company was shocking in her mannerisms and the way she spoke to staff and clients. - No chance of progression here at all. - Low morale of staff, the company took on more than they could handle. - Way too much unnecessary admin work which PCC's should not have been doing. - Definitely no work life balance or care for your mental health or your physical health.

Pros

Good Clinical Experience if you are straight out of university. Staff members at the same level are nice and provide a good support system.

Cons

No formal supervision. Lack of managers, therefore no one to go to with questions regarding the work. No morale. Everyone is over worked and exhausted. No consideration regarding mental health of employees - Ironic!!! No career development. Low salary. No breakout or lunch room within office space, no where to heat lunch. Management style can be aggressive and can often feel like you're being picked on. No proper HR department where employees can express their concerns. Taking time off can be difficult, only 2 people can be off at a time and work cover whilst you're on Annual Leave is always patchy. High staff turnover, people don't stay too long - don't blame them! No employee benefits whatsoever. Can be difficult to get references once you hand in your notice. No culture and values.
