Pros

just one pros - the colleagues are great and hard working If you need just a short time internship, it is fine to work there. You will learn a lot from your colleagues.

Cons

- there is no clear direction from the upper management that there is no clear business strategy or goals other than just selling more products - they never want to invest in employees/outsourcing/branding because of "cost" - they will do everything to just save cost by hiring interns at really cheap cost, and there is no high possibility that you can turn into full-time after 6-month internship - a lot of processes are not clear (salary review, etc), and management decisions are VERY questionable - they claim to be international, but don't have a flat hierarchy. The way the directors talk to you will be more like "ordering you to do something" - very unstable company - don't have a single investor, and fired a lot of people in the early 2016 without any notice period. it is really bad for expats who need visa in Shanghai to stay. My advice to whoever is looking at this post, please be ready to listen and face all the BS that the company tells you. When they say "a free pair of sunglasses every year" as a employee benefit, they will include that in your salary review, saying that your salary increased because you got a free pair, which is really stupid. After 6-month internship, unless you are better than the full-time employees, there is almost no chance you will become full-time. And, once they give you full-time offer, they can take it back a week after, making you an intern again just to save money again (it happened to one of my colleagues).

Pros

- Most current and former employees can agree with me and say that despite the various Cons, the working environment is very pleasant for an expatriate looking for work in Shanghai. - The company changes and grows extremely fast. Don't expect to be doing the same thing everyday; as long as you are good at what you do, you'll be given more responsibilities and opportunities in time. - You'll have plenty of opportunities to learn new things and become proficient in areas you would never have expected to be in. - Most of the mid-level managers are very knowledgeable and effective resources to learn from.

Cons

- Despite what they may say in the job ad, the compensation will most probably not be competitive. I'd suggest doing a lot of research if this is one of your primary concerns. From a quick search on Glassdoor for similar job listings in the city, it's evident that I only earn around 70% of what other companies offer. - Tying along with compensation: there are almost no benefits. The company/upper management rarely gives the impression that they value their employees. You get a free pair of designer eyewear each year but on the grand scheme of things, that's nothing. - Very low effort in retaining employees. People come and go every couple of months. This does not help promote any feeling of longevity or worth as an employee. Even if you do a good job, you could be the next one who's let go. - The company has a habit of hiring people with no experience/qualifications at a low cost, so you'll likely find that many people you work with are incompetent. As a summary, this company provides great environment for the hard working/smart but with little experience. As long as you are aggressive and prove to be better than your peers, you will progress very quickly. However, do not expect to receive much compensation for your efforts.
