Pros
The company can potentially provide great work opportunities, training and experience for Registered Dietitians. It also provides continuing education via regional meetings, using in-house, upper-level Dietitians and Corporate Dietitians. There are great resources available for Dietitians, many of them are available on-line.
Cons
Coming to an existing facility and merging management styles, philosophies and personnel is the challenge that Morrison Management Specialists faces. Morrison relies on acquiring and maintaining contracts for food service management and clinical nutrition management services. Yet, Clinical Nutrition Managers are not always respected as managers. This can create tension among the Dietitian and the Food Service Manager, who may or may not understand what a Clinical Dietitian's job entails. Additionally, the idea of placing a team of managers in a facility, without introducing the team to each other, or to the existing employees, managers and administrators at the facility can lead to conflict. It can place the team at odds and can make for an uncomfortable work situation.
