May work for some, didn't quite for me - Junior Art Director Moosylvania Employee Review

Pros

Lots of free food, beautiful building.

Cons

The rumors about turnover and nepotism have been entirely true in my experience. I worked under someone who I viewed as under-qualified but due to her relationship to the owner I was locked into that position. Requests to move to a team that was doing work I saw as more generative and fulfilling were seen as an unwillingness to play the hand I was dealt and I was ultimately let go.

Pros

Moose is a really great place to grow, and the opportunities for cool projects and advancement definitely exceeded my expectations. If you're driven and thrive in places with less rigid structure, you'll likely do well here. The culture is also really unique. Beautiful office space (while still allowing for WFH flexibility), lots of fun team building events/happy hours, tons to get involved in (e.g. DEI committee, culture committee, book club, rec sports teams, etc.) They've also recently started investing even more in their employees by revamping their health insurance/benefits, parental leave, PTO, debt relief programs, etc.

Cons

Like any small ad agency, teams tend to be lean. So a few times a year, the workload can get a bit intense. But I never felt like management dismissed any concerns when I mentioned feeling stretched thin, and I didn't regularly work long hours. The client type is also a bit limited, mostly alcohol, cigar, and finance, so you can get burnt out on it after a while if you're not super passionate about the verticals. But they do a good job of moving you around when you get bored to try to keep things fresh!
