Competence is King is one of the values but it's run more like the royal family at the top. Schoolyard politics are abundant especially at management ranks, with lots of closed-door gossip and the well-connected getting passes for their poor performance. It's gotten worse under the current CHRO, who seems to have no clue how to design a fair and objective performance management strategy.
The leaders I watched build the business up with acquisitions have long retired. The company has been pretty stagnant the past decade. There's new execs and the jury is out so there's hope.
Our customers punish us for our often late deliveries but we're hard to replace on their programs. Eventually this might catch up with us and we'll lose market share and need layoffs. Management doesn't take this seriously enough.
