Pros

You will learn a lot about fabrics and gain experience with clients. You become close with coworkers. Discount is nice. Jack is the original founder of the store and he is a very nice man, as for his son Philip he is not.

Cons

Management is absolutely awful. You feel incredibly disrespected and make you feel less of a person. I felt stalked by the manger when on lunch breaks and even when using the bathroom. She watches the cameras on her day off. I had to leave this company to save my own mental health. Management will yell at degrade you in front of customers. Phillip the owner is not a kind person, he has called me stupid for small mistake. Even after making him large 3k to 7k sale, he still points out your failures. He treats his staff awful. The breakroom is absolutely disgusting, it's the size of a closet and can only fit 4 employees elbow to elbow. Most staff go out to eat or eat their lunch in the stairwell. With minimum wage pay, it makes it difficult to go out to eatevery day. The commission goal is impossible, you must hit the goal before receiving commission. There is no real health benefits or even vacation and sick time. Even when you have it you can not use it. They will fire you if you call off and are in the hospital. They are lucky that employee did not sue. They will make you feel like an awful person for calling off when sick, even when providing a doctors note.

Pros

I think a lot of reviews online are written by people who had a negative experience, so I wanted to share my honest perspective. My experience working at Mood Fabrics has been very positive. Working closely with the CEO has been a great opportunity. He is a strong leader who encourages everyone to keep learning and improving. He pushes you to grow professionally, but also takes the time to teach and guide you when needed. That kind of leadership has helped me develop a lot in my career. When I first started, I was in a different role with a smaller scope. Over time, I was able to grow into a new position that I really enjoy. That kind of opportunity to grow within the company is something I really appreciate. There are also a lot of small things that make the environment enjoyable. The facility is new and clean, the team works well together and people are willing to help each other, and leadership recognizes the effort employees put into their work. Time off is handled well when requested, and overall there is a good work-life balance. And of course, Monday bagels are always a nice bonus. Overall, I feel valued and motivated to keep improving every day.

Cons

Personally, I haven't experienced any major downsides. Like any workplace, there are expectations and accountability, but that’s part of maintaining a productive environment.
