Pros

Remote work and competitive salary and extremely talented colleagues (a shame for Montu to have let go of so much talent)

Cons

Over the last couple of years, Montu went from rapid expansion to rapid job cuts with several waves of redundancies in addition to quieter individual redundancies, meaning that very little long-term meaningful work could be completed. I was moved between teams several times and my performance and remuneration review was continually forgotten or pushed back due to these changes until it had been well over a year since my last pay increase. I also missed out on career development and opportunities for official growth/promotion. It seemed amongst colleagues that due to the constant redundancies, we were all waiting for the proverbial axe to fall. And fall it finally did. Benefits in addition to salary were minimal and somewhat tokenistic. Senior management rarely communicated with individuals, especially around redundancies. The most recent wave of redundancies were handled perhaps better than previous rounds, but senior leadership still failed to account for the reasons initially, without this communication, the change seems sudden and a massive strategic 180 (though evidence of strategy was not present to employees). Morale has been steadily declining over the past couple of years and it is my personal opinion that it will continue to do so.

Pros

Fully remote work, great boss and team

Cons

The higher ups have no strategic direction and make terrible decisions which have impacted so many people causing massive rounds of redundancies. And their treatment of you during the process is impersonal and disgusting.

Pros

People supported each other because management certainly didn’t.

Cons

Easily one of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for. The culture is deeply toxic, bullying is normalised, and HR exists purely to protect management rather than employees. Complaints go nowhere, while the people responsible for creating hostile environments are rewarded and promoted. Leadership appears completely directionless and driven solely by profit at the expense of both staff and patients. There is no investment in employees, no accountability, and no long-term vision beyond squeezing as much work as possible out of fewer people. Management repeatedly pushes “operational efficiency” as an excuse for redundancies, but in reality the workload never disappears — it’s dumped onto the remaining staff until burnout becomes unavoidable. The company seems more interested in cutting costs than maintaining standards, leading to rushed, poor-quality work and impossible expectations. Employees are then blamed for the inevitable consequences of understaffing and unrealistic workloads. Experienced staff are pushed out and replaced with cheaper hires, creating constant instability and a revolving door culture. Morale is terrible, trust in leadership is nonexistent, and fear of retaliation stops many employees from speaking up. I would strongly discourage anyone considering working here unless they are prepared for an unhealthy, stressful, and unsupported environment.
