Pros

Good pay Unlimited PTO Work from home Everybody has been extremely kind and helpful No feeling of competitiveness with each other Extensive training and learning opportunities Realistic goals and KPIs Well stocked food and drinks at the main offices No micromanagement Plenty of help from people whenever you need it Everyone you work with knows their sh*t, ie very smart Very cool and accepting company culture that values who you are, but values what you can do more, in a good way Plenty of room for growth and advancement Company laptop actually has enough RAM and is a newer model TBH I thought the VP over my dept was a tech bro until I realised he really knew what he was talking about, actually listened to feedback, and used it. I was pleasantly surprised. During company all-hands they take live questions that are meaningful and actually answer them to a real degree. Less corporate-speak than most places I've been at. Didn't shy away from or punt difficult questions. I feel happy working here, I don't dread going to work, and enjoy my co-workers. I feel valued, compensated, and like I've been given a realistic opportunity to succeed without being fed into the fire. I worked for years at one of the largest cloud companies and would much rather be here than there.

Cons

Had to go on a week long training trip to NYC with only one paycheck, which was hard to budget for. (They reimbursed expenses) RSUs are a pretty big part of pay package and pay out quarterly, but only after a year. Not bad once it starts, just harder the first year. I'm considered a "flex" employee because there's a wework office in town with 2 desks for 20 employees in town. So in reality fully remote, but the flex designation means they don't reimburse for internet/phone/office supplies, which I mean... meh. I'd still rather be remote just feels like a loophole.

Pros

Supportive people, a strong culture, and meaningful flexibility are the biggest positives. I've had the chance to work with thoughtful colleagues who care about doing good work and helping each other succeed. There are solid opportunities to learn, build relationships across teams, and contribute in a way that feels impactful.

Cons

Workloads can be heavy during busy periods, and priorities can sometimes shift quickly (which is expected in growing companies)

Pros

Most benefits are solid, exception being no matching 401K which is kind of insane for tech. Embraces the use of AI for all employees.

Cons

MongoDB is extremely dysfunctional from a marketing POV. The functional silos built a culture of no collaboration and just checking boxes of doing the same things over and over again. Leadership at the MLT level is out of their depth for what the business needs out of marketing to grow. There is arrogance encouraged by a bully CMO who has her favorites that can be held to different standards than others and it is abundantly clear. That attitude trickles down into all of MLT and never really offer solutions, just criticisms. Pay is lower than other companies for the same role. Lack of clarity of what it takes to get a promotion. Blatant disregard for Employee Engagement surveys that have been on a decline for years that leadership takes no ownership on improving.
