Pros

There is really no way to undersell the collaborative vibe at MongoDB. It's the first place I've worked where nearly everyone is open, helpful and proactive. The culture they cultivate comes from top-down and they truly believe in sharing time, information, experiences, data and solutions proactively. As for the day to day work, it's extremely rewarding. The roles are well defined, but they allow for 1 hour each day of "Personal Time" where you can work on anything else important to you relevant to the business. If you want to learn something, fine. If you want to work with someone from a different department to create a new tool, fine. If you want to work on a certification that will help you in your career, fine. This is a company policy, not just a suggestion. As for the management, I honeslty don't know how they find the time. 1x1 meetings are setup during your first year, 1 per quarter, with your director (or 2nd line) and twice-weekly 1x1s with your direct upline manager. The former is almost unheard of--they truly understand that the front liners need to be heard and they value the input. Finally, the onboarding process has got to be among the best int the IT industry. It's unbelievably thorough, well organized, timed well and even has benchmarks and feedback loops to allow for constant improvement and adjustment as new hire priorities shift over time.

Cons

The only con I can think of--and this is a stretch--is that their annual conference isn't a must-attend event for employees. A relatively low percentage attend, which makes sense from the perspective of needing people to man the ship so to speak. I'm really stretching here to find something that appraockes the realm of "con."

Pros

Supportive people, a strong culture, and meaningful flexibility are the biggest positives. I've had the chance to work with thoughtful colleagues who care about doing good work and helping each other succeed. There are solid opportunities to learn, build relationships across teams, and contribute in a way that feels impactful.

Cons

Workloads can be heavy during busy periods, and priorities can sometimes shift quickly (which is expected in growing companies)

Pros

Remote work and decent pay

Cons

Really depends on the team, however middle management needs to be addressed. Toxic culture that truly depends on who your manager is. Silent layoffs are made to seem "Performance-based", then job is re-posted at a reduced range. Proceed with caution and understand that HR is not your friend.
