Pros
Earning potential for sales (OTE , spiffs + equity). Extremely tenured Senior Leadership -RD's , VPs and SVPs who will get in the trenches with you to get a deal done. RDs who have been in the MongoDB sales seat who can help guide the sales process which makes a huge difference. Super impressive C-suite. A CEO who will join you on a client call then hours later appears on CNBC. Great women in tech programs & speaker series. Skilled CSM team who are equally effective in growing accounts and finding new business as reps are. Finally, a product that exceeds clients' expectations post-sales (unlike other tech sales roles where you hold your breath once the deal closes as the platform often doesn't work..). Low client churn rate and customers, in general, enjoy collaborating with you.
Cons
Very technical sales, however, the Sales Engineers are best in class and are very generous with their time. Deal cycles range from 1month to - 18months. Not an ideal company if you tend to jump Sales roles every 12months. The longer deal cycles do come with substantial pay off so it's worth the wait. MongoDB has an extremely strict sales process so you can't go rogue but an ideal environment if you're keen to sharpen your sales skills and develop professionally.
