Pros

I regret to say that my experience at Momentive has been disappointing and disheartening due to several critical issues: Leadership Conflicts: The HR Leader doubling as the Shared Services leader raises serious concerns about conflicting interests and priorities. This dual role impedes growth and development initiatives crucial for employee satisfaction and company success. Internal Politics Run Rampant: There exists a toxic culture of internal politics primarily between managers. This has created a hostile environment where personal agendas often supersede team and company goals. Flexible Work Policy Disparity: The Flexible Work Policy (FWP) is inconsistently applied. While some employees are allowed to work from home entirely, others are unjustly denied the same privilege, often citing arbitrary reasons that lack transparency and fairness. Favoritism and Unfair Treatment: There is blatant favoritism towards certain individuals, undermining morale and fairness within the workplace. This favoritism further exacerbates the already toxic work environment. Stagnant Career Growth: Promotions within organization are practically non-existent. Despite hard work and dedication, there is little to no opportunity for career advancement, which leads to demotivation and dissatisfaction among employees. High Employee Turnover: The company fails miserably at retaining talented employees. The constant turnover not only disrupts workflow but also reflects the underlying issues with management and organizational culture. HR Ineffectiveness: The HR department, unfortunately, does not fulfill its responsibilities adequately. They fail to address employee concerns impartially and do not uphold fair practices in areas like performance reviews and conflict resolution. Below Market Salary: Compensation at Momentive does not align with industry standards. Salaries are notably below market rates, which is a major deterrent for attracting and retaining top talent.

Cons

Collaborative Opportunities: There are ample opportunities for collaboration and teamwork among colleagues, which fosters a sense of camaraderie and collective achievement.

Pros

Friendly colleagues and flexible hours.

Cons

As an international company with employees working in different time zones, it sometimes gets difficult to communicate with colleagues. This may sometimes lead to unusual office hours.

Pros

I'm one week into my journey at Momentive Performance Materials, and I couldn't be happier with how things have started. The onboarding process has been incredibly smooth—well-organized, supportive, and thoughtfully paced. I’ve transitioned from my previous role without feeling overwhelmed or anxious, which speaks volumes about the culture here. The corporate HQ is a fantastic place to work. My desk setup is comfortable and well-equipped, and the environment is clean, modern, and welcoming. Everyone I've met so far has been warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. There's a real sense of community and collaboration. Bonus points for the cafeteria—it offers good food and a nice space to recharge during the day. Overall, I’m excited about what’s ahead and feel confident I’ve joined a company that values its people and sets them up for success.

Cons

Coming from a hybrid work environment, I initially had some hesitation about being on-site five days a week. However, it’s actually been a refreshing change. Being at corporate HQ has helped me build relationships faster, get face time with colleagues, and feel more connected to the company culture. The workspace is comfortable, the people are welcoming, and the cafeteria is a great perk—it’s made the transition smoother than I expected.
