My time at Modus was brief for a simple reason. The culture there is horrible. If you do not make an immediate impact you will be victimised and treated differently. Please bare in mind I was brought on at a junior level on a low wage, yet had to manage unrealistic expectations after a week of very poor and minimal training from the 'CEO,' who manages his team like he is on work experience. From inappropriate temper tantrums in the middle of the office when something did not go his way or an unrealistic deadline was not met, to bullying his younger staff members. Due to the manager's incompetence, he has managed to create a toxic culture of blame and backchatting. If you were to make a mistake or mess up, you were the last to know about it. The staff retention there is awful, with new starters being unable to get involved with this inner circle of Guy's minions, who will throw you under the bus at any given moment to tragically seek out his approval. Strange how new starters last a few months, while this inner circle of brown-nosing and backchatting staff members have spent years there. I could honestly go on and on about the countless issues with this place, but to sum it up if, like myself, you saw this place and think it's a small, trendy company with an opportunity to start your career in that sector, please for your own sanity find somewhere with a compotent manager who doesnt lack any human emotion and empathy beside randoms hysterical fits of rage.
