Pros

Decent 1st work experience Sales people are great.

Cons

Working for corporate is a nightmare. Zero work/life balance. Unreasonably high expectations with awful compensation and mediocre benefits. Pay was about 25% less than industry standard. Little to no opportunity for promotions or raises. No training or onboarding process when starting. Complaints to HR and upper management are never taken seriously. Extremely toxic and negative work environment. A good company name to have on your resume but that’s about it.

Pros

Better hours than most retailers. Pay structure involves salary plus incentive which for many is preferable to straight commission. Periodically discounts are added by vendors on top of the standard discount which can make some clothes previously unaffordable more within reach. Incentive portion of compensation is highly confusing.

Cons

This is a family owned and operated company; no matter your tenure or position, if you complain about any one of the owners you will be managed out or fired and quite possibly blackballed in the market sector. Management is closed minded and inflexible maintaining a we lasted in business because they do it their way and so if you don't like it you can leave. Don't ever complain or the exit will be shown to you in the west coast stores as the owner is a dilettante. No opportunity for advancement is available unless your last name is Mitchell.
