Pros
Alot of opportunities to learn the very many aspects of different ndt fields. Opportunity to be a true LV 2 meaning experienced in contact testing, immersion, and different types of weld testing . Multiple specs I am certified to all but 1. Thickness testing and composite testing as well.
Cons
We are underpayed for our knowledge and experience based on the lack of understanding to as what we do here in this lab by mistras. Last raise was 26cents this year nothing. Raises were frozen .... so effectively making it a 13 cent raise. This is Los Angeles not nowhere ohio. Cost of living is higher. A definite con that has forced many great inspectors into other companies and flooded us with unqualified employees at unfair rates to take their places.
