Pros

I love working for Mission Underwriters because of the dynamic, forward-thinking culture and the opportunity to make a real impact. The company values innovation and collaboration, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to strategic initiatives while working alongside a talented and passionate team. Mission fosters an environment where ideas are heard, professional growth is encouraged, and leadership truly invests in its people. The work is both challenging and rewarding, and I appreciate being part of an organization that prioritizes excellence, integrity, and long-term success. Being part of a small HR team gives me the opportunity to lead the Talent function while also gaining exposure to other areas like Learning & Development and Compensation. This dynamic environment allows me to expand my HR skill set, contribute to impactful projects, and continuously grow as an HR professional.

Cons

Mission is a growing organization in its "Scale-Up" phase, which can be a challenge for some employees depending on their career goals and the type of environment they thrive in. Personally, I find this phase exciting—it gives me the opportunity to build, refine, and enhance existing functions. I’m motivated by the challenge and the impact I can make.

Pros

Working remote. Was not with company long enough to discern other pros

Cons

After 4 months, I was laid off from the company. As I was still learning my job functions I am uncertain why this happened. I have nearly 10 years of experience working as an underwriting assistant and my last role prior to mission, I was a top performing UA for my manager. I was let go with no PIP even. I awoke early one day to a meeting with my manager and was let go. No reason was disclosed.
