Pros

Westchester, IL office is conveniently located off of Interstate 294 & Cermak Road (near Oak Brook shopping mall) in a nice, suburban office complex and the Milwaukee, WI office has eclectic charm; small, diverse and interesting mix of clientele; likable CEO/president; staff is young, friendly and easy to work with; project management processes are developing; paid internships available

Cons

Company is light on focus and heavy on internal changes; still maturing - for example, there isn't a formal performance process and development opportunities, if any, are ad-hoc and always informal; client base is too static and small; light benefits offering commiserate with size of company and revenues (there is no 401(k) plan, FSA or tuition reimbursement)

Pros

Stable (and growing) company; competitive salaries and benefits program - tremendous flexibility to work in the office or from home as needed. All team members make a contribution to the success of the company. There is a vision and plan being executed upon - and a focused / dedicated leadership team in place.

Cons

Misix has two offices - but that's not necessarily a "con" - it adds to the unique culture existing within the company that we are all one team and focused on doing what is right for the people and client.

Pros

Good benefits, company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance - high-deductible but reimbursable. Decent office space, new computers and iPhones for all employees. Occasional social events, and paid lunches or dinners. Flexible hours for the most part, remote work is okay occasionally if approved by manager. CEO Dan is likable and friendly. Ability to experiment and pursue own projects if time allows. Professional development plans are made with resources and time provided to work on it.

Cons

Only has one stable retainer client, whose representatives are rude and condescending - to the point where I saw a co-worker be broken down into tears - and Misix management doesn't stand up to them to avoid losing business. Other client work is on and off. Managers are promoted based on tenure and not necessarily talent. Shows signs of financial instability - while the paycheck delays never happened while I was there, it doesn't surprise me to read they are happening now. There is a divide between younger and more experienced employees. Salaries are lower than the market for most positions, some as low as $15 hourly for full-time. Some managers can be passive aggressive and condescending.
