As an intern, I felt I was fully able to benefit from the internship experience at Mirabeau. Mine was a research internship, hence it was aligned more with a research project than a specific project at Mirabeau per se. Some key highlights for me 1) The independence and freedom that Mirabeau gives you is AMAZING! I could carry out my research project at Mirabeau exactly the way I was hoping to 2) I'm very grateful for the flexibility that was shown to accommodate my interests 3) Hats off to my internship supervisor, for always being supportive. Even through all the challenges I had faced, I was always given a lot of support

The independence that's given to you has the flipside of not always having someone that can offer solutions. You have to go find solutions to your challenges. You have to come up with next steps and pitch them out It's not a huge con. It helps in the long-term because it sharpens critical skills of resilience and ownership of your work!

The colleagues are very open and kind to each other. My team directly treated me like I was working at Mirabeau for ages. The bigger part of the team is native Dutch, but mostly they automatically start speaking English when I’m in the office!

Some of the paper work is still in Dutch, for me it’s not a big deal since I have lots of people who can translate documents for me. But in long-term speaking they need to switch to English when more non-native Dutch are joining.
