Cons
I have honestly never worked in a worse culture than the one fostered by Minted. I had read the Glassdoor reviews prior to joining, and thought it 'can't be that bad', or 'it'll be different for me', but just heed my warning and please spend your precious energy elsewhere. A short list of massive cons: - The CEO creates a culture of fear and submission. I was personally yelled at for suggesting ideas in a meeting with her, and I witnessed her obnoxiously harass or berate other leaders during my time there as well. If you're interested in just doing as you're told and not having any input, then this may be a place for you. If you want to think, grow and thoughtfully contribute, there's no real space for that at Minted. - The whole culture is like a bad version of Mean Girls. There are a lot of smart people at Minted, but it's like the worst version of smart because it comes with MASSIVE egos and arrogance. - On their interview ratings for candidates, they literally have 'intelligence' as one of 5 or so factors. That always baffled me - how can you determine someone's intelligence from a 30 min interview? I thought it was a perfect example of the arrogance that permeates the whole culture. - The product is just not exciting or going anywhere. Most of the tech is built on spaghetti code - constantly inhibiting innovation and change, and the overall vision is just not big enough to make the future exciting or something I wanted to be part of.
