Uncaring higher management - Middle/Lower Management Minor Food Group Employee Review

Pros

Staff meal, staff discount (but you'll get this benefit at many other F&B companies also) Birthday treat (very small amount) Referral bonus (but manager's not entitled) Really can't think of anything exceptional as they only give the bare minimum which is what you'd expect at major F&B chains.

Cons

If you're lower management level, you'd be definitely taken advantage of by working much much more than the working hours stated in the contract. Higher management's excuse was no manpower and they themselves were OT-ing, which was ridiculous when you were able to see new outlets being opened at a fast pace and existing staff was being stretched thin in order to run the new outlets. During peak days like weekends and holidays, the lack of staff meant not getting the proper 1 hour break - half an hour at most to eat, so that you could help your team handle the huge stress from the non-stop streaming in of diners at all times of the day. Feedback to higher management on this just fell on deaf ears and they kept saying couldn't get staff but then, their salary offered is among the lowest of all the big chains. Who would want to join this company if they can get better pay and salary at other less-busy places?! Next, if you take MC, they will deduct your allowance which is built into your basic pay - 50% allowance for 1 day's MC and 100% for 2 days and above. They also have this monthly quality control thing (QC) where the person-in-charge from office comes down to the restaurant on a random day and do an inspection according to SFA standards. If the restaurant fails QC, every staff in the outlet will get their entire allowance deducted. This means if you're offered $XXX salary, the allowance is included as part of the entire amount of $XXX so they will 'eat' your allowance leaving you with less. QC is understandable, but MC?? Falling sick is UNAVOIDABLE and we have to be punished for it. WHY? They also have this monthly sales incentive - the higher management will set a monthly sales target for the outlet to achieve. If it hits the target, everyone in the outlet will get a small amount. BUT this depends on whether the outlet passed the QC or not. If QC fails for that month, nobody gets a single cent even though they worked hard to meet that target, and usually the target is set to be almost unachievable. Basically, I could just work 1 full day part-time elsewhere and get the same bonus amount. Conclusion: Very easy to lose a part of your salary here, but extremely hard to gain any bonus. You're neither compensated nor recognised for your hard work. Impossible to claim back the rightful non-working hours that you've given to the restaurant in order to keep operations smooth and up the team's morale, because of no additional staff to cover, and if a staff member takes MC, there's also no staff to help cover. Minor only attracts the incapable rejects from other companies and you could see internal conflict among staff because of these people, who simply couldn't work in a team and didn't want to follow instructions.

Pros

there’s no pro at all.

Cons

-HR hired me to fill a headcount, but the manager made it clear from day one that she did not want another person on her team. I was completely iced out because of internal corporate politics. -The manager implemented an arbitrary "fining system" to financially penalize staff, which creates a highly stressful and hostile workplace. -Procedures made very little sense, and there was zero effective leadership or guidance from the manager. -I was terminated without any valid reason or performance-related justification.

Pros

Working with good friends good teammates

Cons

Disappointed with this company, always lack of manpower, especially one specific brand, due to lack of manpower we can't clear our PH or leave, and the company won't encash us our PH or leave if expire, I will report this to the MOM, bonus got deducted because we took MC very unfair to us so you telling us we can't take MC if we are sick?
