Pros

-Initially, the firm provided a good working environment with interesting cases. -Supporting staff were supportive and great to work with.

Cons

-The managing partners are more focused on acquiring new business rather than managing the existing caseload effectively. -Supporting staff are overwhelmed due to improper training and excessive caseloads. -Attorneys are frequently traveling or out of office, leading to a lack of in-person support. -Managing partners do not seem to communicate with each other and are often unaware of new procedures or plans -No opportunities for career growth or professional development. -Existing staff are constantly required to train new hires without additional compensation, adding to their already overwhelming caseload. -Requests for raises are declined. -HR is non-existent, making it difficult to voice complaints or opinions. -Certain managing partners are condescending and difficult to work with, especially when asking for assistance. -Management does not seem to care about the problems or how they can improve. -They do not communicate with staff in the correct manner to resolve ongoing issues and tensions.

Pros

Pay is not bad for Ithaca. The work is interesting at first. Coworkers and attorneys are generally nice and competent, and give you space if you're good at your job. Flexible schedule. Lots of events, free food and drinks.

Cons

Yearly raises are tiny for hourly employees. Few opportunities for promotion. The work gets repetitive, and only occasionally do you learn new things, even if you proactively hunt for different kinds of cases. Many talented paralegals leave in search of better career growth. Open office layout is lame - preferred the old building. Can't see out of windows. Some attorneys are too non-confrontational and prickly.

Pros

HR is great, good benefits, flexible time policies, very happy work environment, pizza & casual Fridays, opportunities for overtime, friendly coworkers, very pleasant attorneys, offer lots of training, Christmas bonus, they really try to take care of their employees and do things like bring in coffee and pastries during busy times, compensation is market rate for area.

Cons

not a lot of opportunity for advancement due to the nature of the work
