Pros

- Interesting and innovative projects/work. - Very knowledgeable and experienced colleagues. - Mid and junior management mostly great.

Cons

- Not really flexible management at a director level. Attitude of impunity viz "take it or leave it.", especially during negotiations. (I wouldn't advise one to engage in negotiations, it's likely just gonna sour relationships. If you found better, just leave in peace.) - Recognition may not be solely based on performance. Worse off there is no objective measurement of performance. So sometimes recognition goes to the one who knows how to play to the tune of the culture, or one who talks the talk, but later on struggles to walk the walk. - I suspect there are massive salary disparities (Some/few people get paid what they are worth, the rest have to take what's given, and if they don't like it they can walk, it seems.) - Unwritten expectation to work unpaid overtime hours, happens quite often.

Pros

Work on complex, real-world defence and aerospace systems. The work is highly multidisciplinary, combining mechatronics, electronics, control systems, and software, which creates continuous technical growth and exposure to systems-level engineering rather than isolated components.

Cons

One of the main challenges is that, like many defence and specialised engineering environments, compensation may not always match the intensity or niche skill level of the work compared to private-sector or overseas opportunities. However, this is often balanced by the experience gained and the complexity of the systems you work on.
