Pros
Used to be gaining sea time fast. Now you can still do that but at the expense of your happiness and literally the rest of your life as after 12 months at sea they'll be calling you 30-45 days after you get home harassing you to come back.
Cons
No work life balance. Completely out of touch office management. Focusing on the wrong priorities. They treat their mariners with outright contempt, even their Captains and Chief Engineers (I was directly called a liar by one of them).
