Pros

I have worked full-time at Miles Technologies for almost 10 years. This is not the first, or second, or third job that I've held for 5+ years. But if things go well, it will be my last. While not perfect, and possibly not a great fit for everyone, it is hard to imagine an overall better place to work if you like to work hard, with great people, on challenging problems that matter. You might love working at Miles Technologies, too, if: 1) You *like* to be busy, 2) You are self-motivated, 3) You are humble, 4) You are smart, 5) You genuinely like and care about other people. The free food, the gym, the paid Volunteer Time Off, the group activities, the back deck, approving your own time off, and lots of other things are also great. But see above. Be honest with yourself: working 'Hard and Smart' is a real thing at Miles. Now that you know, don't act surprised after you're hired. The company has been around for 20+ years and has figured out a lot about working efficiently. Those tools and procedures are available to every employee. An ocean of coaching and assistance is also available for the asking. From what I've seen, most who struggle with the workload either ignore these tools or don't bother to learn them well. And then complain about being overworked. At every level, Miles is more focused on leadership than 'management'. Corporate strategy, goals, and operating results are communicated to every employee. Expectations for every role are clear. Leaders and their direct reports communicate regularly and company leaders are unbelievably available. How many other companies do you know where any employee can view the CEO's daily calendar and create an appointment for themselves? I consider myself very fortunate to be part of Miles Technologies.

Cons

No company is perfect. Given the 'pros' I think these cons are minor but maybe they will be important to you: - Miles is constantly growing and prefers to promote from within. As a result, not every leader is going to have a ton of experience leading. If you feel like you need a very experienced supervisor, maybe this is a consideration. For the vast majority of employees, it's not a problem. - Workload IF you don't proactively manage it or just don't want to work hard. If you do manage your workload and work hard, you will accomplish a lot at Miles.

Pros

Family comes first here at Miles IT. I work from home because I have kids in school and kids with special needs. Miles IT offers the flexibility I need to take care of them. Miles IT offers great opportunities for advancement and expanding your knowledge. Everyone I work with is super friendly, and we all strive to support and help each other succeed. We may have many divisions, but we are all one company, and we ensure each other's success.

Cons

Sometimes, I work a bit longer hours because I am so engaged in something that I can't stop until I'm done. (maybe that is my ADHD talking)

Pros

Great place for IT beginners. They put family first and offer great flexibility with work-from-home shift timings. It’s a great environment for learning new skills and gaining hands-on technical exposure.

Cons

The company suffers from poor workload management, continuously loading tasks onto overwhelmed employees while senior staff are too busy to offer timely help. Management fails to value seasoned employees, routinely ignoring their feedback and opinions. Instead, the culture leans into unnecessary micromanagement, where employees are constantly criticized for petty mistakes that do not impact the customer, leaving staff feeling unappreciated. Combined with the complete absence of an HR department to address behavioral issues, this creates a highly stressful and toxic work environment.
