Pros

Driving around not stuck at a desk all day and working with all kinds of different technologies

Cons

First the orientation and training were very hectic and brief to say the least. Barely got any training on the ERP system and different technologies that we were to utilize to get the job done and then got thrown out to work and expected to be knowledgeable and effective as possible which is kind of puzzling. If you are unsure of something that wasn't covered in training, which was mostly everything, I would be refereed to look at documents and procedures to read on my own. Driving to multiple locations can be overwhelming. Some days having 3 different locations to commute to and making sure you do a great job at each one while not rushing seems a bit much to ask sometimes when the locations are spread out so far being an hour or more between locations. Giving great customer service is key which I don't mind, but I felt like I was always being rushed to close the ticket and move to the next task. Then sometimes a ticket would be assigned last minute and helpdesk with rush you to get through your initial task to get to the one just assigned. It feels like you can't give great customer service while being rushed to get to the next onsite, a bit of a lose-lose situation.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We are glad that you enjoyed working with a variety of customers and technologies. We do apologize for any negative feelings about your time of employment with us, and we always take input into account when making changes to our orientation and on-board processes. We do have general training for our company-level ERP system combined with job-specific training for our systems and processes along with a buddy/coaching plan for the first 60 days of employment. This encourages and gives the opportunity for new employees to collaborate with senior staff to gain knowledge of our systems, processes and tools. There is a certain amount of obligation on the part of the new employee to reach out to their buddy and/or manager when appropriate, and it seems that in this situation, this program was not taken advantage of. Our on-site team is primarily responsible for visiting our customer locations to take care of their technology needs, it is commonly scheduled for multiple visits per day. We pride ourselves on being responsive and customer-oriented, concentrating on giving the best experience for our customers. We hope you have gained value from the time you spent working with us, and we wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors!

Pros

Family comes first here at Miles IT. I work from home because I have kids in school and kids with special needs. Miles IT offers the flexibility I need to take care of them. Miles IT offers great opportunities for advancement and expanding your knowledge. Everyone I work with is super friendly, and we all strive to support and help each other succeed. We may have many divisions, but we are all one company, and we ensure each other's success.

Cons

Sometimes, I work a bit longer hours because I am so engaged in something that I can't stop until I'm done. (maybe that is my ADHD talking)

Pros

Great place for IT beginners. They put family first and offer great flexibility with work-from-home shift timings. It’s a great environment for learning new skills and gaining hands-on technical exposure.

Cons

The company suffers from poor workload management, continuously loading tasks onto overwhelmed employees while senior staff are too busy to offer timely help. Management fails to value seasoned employees, routinely ignoring their feedback and opinions. Instead, the culture leans into unnecessary micromanagement, where employees are constantly criticized for petty mistakes that do not impact the customer, leaving staff feeling unappreciated. Combined with the complete absence of an HR department to address behavioral issues, this creates a highly stressful and toxic work environment.
