Pros

Plenty of time available to find a real job, especially when first hired as you are limited to 25 hours per week of work. If there are not enough inspections coming in, you are sent home with no hours worked.

Cons

Production standards are unrealistic: 3.4 billing hours for each hour worked without missing any mistakes, which is hard since contractor inspectors have variable abilities to do quality work. If the software was easier to work with, and inspector turnove wasn't so high, this standard would be more realistic. Even though the number of inspections in the queue are low, they still advertise for more inspector reviewers, which doesn't promote job security for existing inspectors.

Flexibility, ongoing training, works well in finding solutions to problems with Inspections, responds quickly, open and willing to negotiate terms and fees above the standard rates, takes importance in coming to fair agreements, quick pay, awesome representatives, stands by their inspectors in difficult situations, is more concerned with doing what is right, shows fierce integrity in all they do

I regret not having found MTI sooner to contract with

Work when you want. They will train you but you have to ask questions. Good place to learn the ropes

Cons

Pay is very low to industry standards.
