Pros

Company Truck Company Cellphone Company Ipad for Inspectors You get to be outside a lot Most of the customers are awesome Overtime (for technicians, you work 50+ hrs a week with no overtime as inspector) Benefits aren't terrible (at $410/mo employee and child)

Cons

You do not own yourself anymore. If your manager calls you after hours and you do not answer it or call back promptly, they can and will write you up for it. Owned now by Orkin, the original leadership has been replaced by someone with no pest control or residential experience coming from a background in business to business office supplies. They will expect the same results of you as Orkin inspectors without any resources. I had to buy my own PPE. I am still waiting reimbursement for expenses over two months ago. When my grandfather died, my 3 day bereavement was half a Friday, Saturday, Sunday (unpaid). As an inspector they will expect you to complete 5 home inspections 8-10, 10-12,12-2,2-4,4-6. Then after you complete your inspections, you are expected to make calls and schedule out inspections so that you keep 5 on your schedule every day. You work 6 days a week at this pace. In between the inspections and scheduling, you are going to need to follow up with customers you've quoted termite, exclusionary, and other work. If you do not sell the services that range from $1000 to $15000 on the spot to the pest control customer that you are meeting for their free home inspection, you will have to drive back out if you do sell it later to get paperwork done unless you pay for your own docusign. Technicians in no way receive adequate training. Read your contract clearly. If they promise you anything that is not in the contract, you will not get it. A good deal of bonuses in the contract you do not qualify for because your still dba MidWest and not Orkin. Leadership is abhorrent. If you are on the technician side you are okay so long as you stay under the radar, but be ready to spend your own time learning how to do your job around doing the job. They are going to have you sign a bunch of documents (dozens) with the promise that you will get copy's. You will not be given time to read these documents, and you will not receive copies. Keep track of your sales and make sure you get paid correctly. Keep track of your reimbursements. You don't get paid on anything until after the work is done and paid for (most of the time you won't get paid for your sale until the following month pay period which you get paid for later meaning sometimes you get paid 2 months later unless you leave before then in which you don't get paid). Keeping track of your commission is intentionally a long and complicated task that you will need to figure out on your own on your own time. No matter what your manager does to you, do not report it to HR. You will get written up. They are very anti-employee. Do not have kids. If your child requires your care, you will be written up for it even with written day before notice. There is no hope of moving up in the company. You will have to repeatedly follow up to get any raises that are in your contract (if you get them at all). When leadership positions open up they will send someone from Orkin. If you can handle the work load and lack of respect and you do well in sales, you can make okay money. I've made the largest sale in company history, and I have sold 100% of all crawlspace restorations done by the company. Almost every month I would have made more as a technician working the same hours. But I also work more hours than anyone else.
