Pros

Radio is a great industry with lots of perks and a fun atmosphere. Selling small to medium size business advertising is a great career where you get to meet many people and network with the community.

Cons

This company has a serious issue with chauvinism. There is not one female manager. Basically the owner hires all his "old" buddies from yesteryear who don't have a clue how to manage and create an environment where employers are motivated to perform. All marketing reps are paid the same commission but the only ones who make decent money are those at the top two stations because of the difference in rates between stations.

Pros

Very friendly co-workers and management was fair.

Cons

Comp. structure is extremely limiting. They state “ Midwest Communications offers a competitive base salary and uncapped commissions” but it is truly a 100% commish job with little to zero chance of making commission with their monthly draw/100% claw back comp structure, proving to be thee most unmotivating position I’ve experienced. Sell sell sell…. But we aren’t going to pay you for it!
