Pros
For full time employees the benefits are great. Medical and tuition reimbursement. Nice campus, Majority of the other employees are nice. Good for those who want to complete a degree then move on.
Cons
It depends on the department. I've worked at 4 different departments. Some are nice, laid back, the jobs can be done with little hassle. Others will drive a person to the brink of insanity. Especially in Admission, Bursar, Financial Aid and Registrar offices. There is little opportunity for advancement. The only way to advance is to wait for someone to retire. Typically the interview process is just a formality, a replacement is already decided on prior to the job being posted.
