Pros
Cool technology, great people - smart, dedicated, and very hard working. Lots to learn from peers and colleagues. Gives people to wear many hats and take on responsibilities outside of job description (although by how much depends on manager).
Cons
Main issue is communication from upper management. At times there is a feeling that the company behaves like a Fortune 500 behemoth and management decisions are vague and opaque. People in the trenches are often not given context of what and why they are doing what they are doing. Wasn't always like this - in the beginning the company was more tight knit. But with growth this line of communication was not maintained. Not for all departments and not all the time, but often enough.
