Pros
- Team uses best practices for software development. Code base is well-maintained and solid (i.e. no band-aid quick fixes checked in by developers during the wee hours of the day). Every check-in is subject to automated regression testing. - Good job security - The company considers employees as "family", and laying off people is a the last resort. They will first resort to forced vacation and temporary salary reduction (10%, will be compensated by RSU afterwards), and only if those tactics fail, will they reduce headcount.
Cons
- Salary not competitive compared to other companies in the semiconductor industry or tech companies. Many talented people have left and are continuing to leave the company. - Little room for advancement or salary increase - Some people move their way up the corporate ladder with politics and pure talks, so the company ended up with people without much talent or vision sitting at important positions.
