Pros

- Plenty of opportunities to learn new techniques/assays - Teammates (not managers) were all committed to helping each other and keeping each other afloat - Company contributes towards HSA

Cons

- Wages are considerably lower than competitors’. - Vacation and sick time are combined, and very little is offered. - Racial microaggressions were common. - Extremely overworked and understaffed. Entire lab team is used to spending countless hours in BSL2 and BSL3 without breaks or lunches. - Only a couple of on-site managers that are never available, and who are so willfully oblivious that they can’t see the problems and unhappiness in their own teams. - Too many projects and orders are approved by Business & Development/management without consideration for the site’s bandwidth, perpetuating the cycle of overworked and undervalued employees. - Projects are often not fully planned for, causing breakdowns in the system and technicians to work overtime frequently. - Emotional manipulation and mind games by management towards their employees, and there are clearly those that are *favorited* and those that are not. - Employees are forced (and sometimes urged) to participate in unsafe lab practices and breaches in GLP practices. - As a result of the above, there is a high turnover rate for such a small site.

Pros

The importance of a good work-life balance is often mentioned in all levels of the company. There's flexibility when life happens and they truly care about your wellbeing and not just the business. The culture is something that I've always loved, you can tell the genuine care that everyone has for each other, not only in the business day to day, but in helping each other solve problems and the care for each other personally as well. There always seems to be something new to work on, and that's another thing that has been great about working here, the diversity in the work keeps it exciting and interesting everyday. I am recognized by peers/managers when I work hard, I feel noticed and important. This is what keeps me motivated to stay with the company.

Cons

I think the PTO offering upon initial hiring is low. Compensation is on the lower side but is worth it because of the other offered benefits.
