Pros
The company, in theory, values giving the customer the best solution for them, as opposed to suggesting the most expensive item. Upselling isn't discouraged, but misleading is a customer is.
Cons
The company policy is very lenient. One can get away with quite a bit before being fired. As a result, weak leadership will lead to sales associates exploiting their peers, shirking their responsibilities while taking all of the good sales. If you're fortunate enough to have a good supervisor, you will be rewarded and recognized for your work. If your manager is a pushover, the bad apple is going to get all of the good sales while you keep your department tidy.
