Lovely people, terrible management, bullying culture - Anonymous employee Methods Business and Digital Technology Employee Review

Pros

There are some lovely people at Methods, many of whom are very bright and have good futures ahead of them (likely at another organisation). There are some people at a senior level with a genuine passion for what they do but they are outnumbered by those who don't.

Cons

There is a culture of bullying that stems from the top - the CEO. Senior staff engage in bullying and are allowed to do so. Harassment is rife. There are senior men within Methods who leer and make lewd remarks to women. Nothing is ever done about this, it is seen as the norm. There does not appear to be a clear strategy. The company continually goes through change and it achieves nothing except chaos. Morale in many parts of the business is very low but management is oblivious to this. Pay is well below the average within the industry. There is a very high attrition rate. Huge back office which is inefficient. Many senior managers are not fit for purpose. Little career development.

Pros

I left Methods for what I thought would be 'greener pastures' and returned very quickly. They always said the door was open and that was true and for that I am very thankful. In terms of progression I have had an excellent experience joining as a graduate and working my way up it has made me feel valued. The people I work with on a day to day basis are truly wonderful and some of the best I could ask for. The clients are always interesting and projects that actually make a difference to people

Cons

Although I consider it 'on the up' their are still some concerns: - staff turnover hasn't been great in what was a turbulent time and lost some great people (hopefully they come back as I did) but I like to view this as a chance to grow again building great teams and learning from past mistakes. - there is still a 'londoncentric' focus to things with any fun event being at the main office.

Pros

The team you work with - generally when its backs against the wall, they pull through - working together to get stuff done for clients. Great clients - some long standing clients that make it worthwhile. remote working - never had a problem with remote working whilst with Methods

Cons

Management - since it was taken over, it's gone severely downhill. A whole raft of new management levels brought in, to produce next to nothing apart from eating into profits resulting in next to no bonus for anyone. 4 years, no promotions - just the usual 'we'll see what happens in 6 months' carrots being dangled I left, they needed to bring in 3 people to do my job - says it all really You'll get on if you manage to get in a clique with the right people
