Pros

-Benefits are great - very laid back - remote work - some upward mobility - high emphasis on work life balance

Cons

-outdated technology, they cheap out by using a less powerful desktop processor to save some dollars… -if you are working remote you have to use your PERSONAL laptop/ pc. getting a company issued laptop is a whole ordeal - they purposely use the cheapest application to remote work to encourage people to work in the office - most applications used could be improved upon but Methodist will always use the cheapest/free option (ex. You have to use the free version of zoom) - constant rotating people, they purposely give you a sign on bonus to make you stay, most people would leave after the contract period is up - you have to be in the office 100% until your remote work is approved - people who have been there for 10+ years are hesitant to change and if there is any it’ll be a slow transition

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
