Pros

All team members fully support each other and are willing to jump in for anything. Management is also supportive of team as well as patient goals. We have enough management, but are not micromanaged. Our talents are recognized and utilized. The BEST thing about working at Methodist Dallas is how friendly both staff and patients are to everyone you see. I've worked in places that mandate saying hello to people in the hall. That mandate would never be necessary at MDMC.

Cons

A private practice job would pay me a little more, but the sacrifice of the friendly and supportive culture isn't worth it to me.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.
