Pros

Metaform is a great place to be if you like having autonomy. Management is based on the principles of Results Only Work Environment (ROWE), which means employees have a huge amount of flexibility in terms of when and how they get their work done. There's also a big emphasis on not burning out, and I've always felt very valued as an employee. The work is engaging and employees really value following best practices and teaching and learning from one another.

Cons

if you have trouble with a lack of structure, Metaform might not be a good fit. It's also a fully remote company and a lot of the assignments don't require collaboration (although there have been more collaborative tasks recently).

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am glad to hear you have always felt valued as an employee. I appreciate your honesty regarding the lack of structure that can come with asynchronous/autonomous work environments and will consider that when assigning future projects to team members. ~ Jeff

Pros

- Everyone is welcoming and supportive. - The results-focused management style allows for flexible hours. - I never felt pressured because expectations, goals, and deadlines were always clearly communicated or quickly clarified. - Jeff and other coworkers do a great job making themselves available for support and questions. - I was regularly reminded that health (both physical and mental) and school took priority over Metaform work over the course of my internship, making the duration of my internship highly manageable and enjoyable. - I feel valued, and I am regularly explicitly reminded by management and coworkers that I am valuable and that I do good work, which has been so incredibly helpful and important for me to feel and hear in my first experience in an industry position. - I've worked on a wide variety of projects and learned a lot of new tools and technologies, and throughout it all I've been directly and clearly contributing to the company's endeavors.

Cons

Due to the small size and remote nature, a lot of the work is largely independent; however, for me at least, this was only really a con at the beginning of my internship when I was still getting the hang of things and still learning to trust myself in a professional work environment.

Thanks for the detailed feedback on the pros and cons of working at Metaform. We love hearing our employees and interns feel valued. Based on your feedback, I will work in the future to have new employees/interns team up with someone until they feel more comfortable in their new work environment. The best idea wins, always. ~ Jeff
