Pros

* It's worth noting that many individuals who work at the company are passionate and dedicated to making a positive impact, joining for idealistic reasons such as doing good. * mostly remote

Cons

The CEO, Gaia Dempsey, has very poor leadership skills (possibly carried over from her previous role at Daqri - check the Glassdoor reviews of that). Her management style has fostered a terrible toxic work environment. Good workers are being "fired" (or pushed out) without good reasons. Information flow is restricted (likely to prevent the discovery of Gaia's inadequacies). A classic top-down approach that stifles creativity. There are cases of latent gaslighting (for lack of a better term). Micromanagement is prevalent (such as non-sensical last-minute design changes), causing disruptions to workflows. Gaia also employs her authority to win arguments and quickly gets emotional, hindering open discussion. She also speaks ill of both clients and colleagues (which only makes you wonder what she says to others about you). Some employees have had to develop "coping mechanisms", sacrificing their own values (and finding ways how to do their job without Gaia stepping on it), while others have simply complied. It's only a matter of time before Gaia surrounds herself with loyalists making it even worse. With the exception of Gaia, who controls all information flow to the board, basically, only one other board member is active, and none of the board members (except Gaia, whose previous company ended up in a disaster) have commercial experience. AFAIK there is no real CEO review process in place, and due to the broad "forever non-disclosure obligation" in Metaculus contracts, employees are hesitant to speak out due to fears of retribution. Very low trust environment. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
