Pros

1. Flexibility - I worked part-time during term time and full time over the summer and there was an incredible amount of flexibility, perfect for those studying full time courses. I had the opportunity to work full-time during weeks of study leave at University and over the summer. 2. Rate of pay - My pay was above the national minimum wage and Sundays included double pay, brilliant for students who work during the weekend. 3. Full training - We were given two full days of training and lots of supportive training throughout the role and when moved to different locations. 4. Staff - Other staff members were welcoming, supportive, encouraging and always a joy to be around. Many members of staff had worked there for over 10 years and the commitment was evident in their work. 5. Change of pace - Able to work at all three terminals (Seacombe, Liverpool and Birkenhead) and at the Spaceport attraction, so each week was different! 6. Equality - no discrimination within the company due to gender or age which allowed me the same opportunities as other staff. Opportunities were therefore based on skill.

Cons

1. Zero hour contracts can be a negative for some staff as there are no guaranteed hours. 2. 12 Hour shifts could be long and tiring. 3. Hired on a temporary contract which was extended - uncertainty about keeping the job long term. 4. Hours could change week to week as rotas changed.
